Week in Review Solo Pod: Planned Topics & Taking Questions
Taking questions from paid subscribers in the comments
In this week’s Week in Review (WIR) solo livestream/pod will go live a day earlier than normal: Thursday at 1pm ET.
Topics I’m going to discuss, in addition to anything else that breaks between now and showtime:
Jared Goff’s bank-breaking deal and what it means for the Lions Super-Bowl hopes.
Antoine Winfield Jr. resetting the safety market.
Mike MacDonald’s defensive revolution, and if he can replicate in Seattle what he did with the Ravens.
I’ll also take questions from paid subscribers in the comments here, plus answer those in the livestream chat.
You can watch along here:
I'll note that additional topics are okay in the questions. I'll answer basically anything I feel I can add value on
Most important question:
What is your schedule release watch schedule?
But more seriously:
1. Is the QB market unique or do other positions have non-linear contract progression between tiers of players? We have seen some "middle class" contracts but the Goff deal and draft seem to keep reinforcing the skew to both extremes for QBs.
2. Any thoughts on the new Hard Knocks "Offseason" program? Could be really interesting for offseason warriors, but depends on how much they show. Giants seemed to have one of the more uneventful offseasons.
3. Not sure if you've discussed this before, but would it be of benefit to some teams if the draft came before free agency? Some would argue this would depress free agent spending, but I feel like it would be zero sum and just shift it around.
