Turning on the dreaded paywall
The paywall is here, but only on archives for now, though that will change
Just wanted to let everyone know I turned on the ability to subscribe with actual money, but at this point only for post 2+ weeks old.
I’ve been thinking about the best way to maximize my reach while building a sustainable venture, and I think now is a good time to take the first step in that direction. I hope I’ve established the value proposition for potential subscribers by putting out a thoughtful post daily, plus two podcasts per week, a pace that will continue into the future.
I wasn’t sure if doing this newsletter full-time was the best next move for my career, with options available to join strong companies doing good work. I decided to push forward because I really love the work I’m doing, and think it’s the best of my career. For me, it’s all about doing the best work, and the rest will work itself out.
If you want to support me and make sure you never lose access to the archive, keep access to google sheets with historical adjusted scores, power rankings, etc, please subscribe. Your support means the world to me, and I hope we can build a community here of thoughtful football discussion. If you want to remain a free subscriber, you’ll start to lose access to some new posts in the coming weeks, plus my weekly wrap-up/Q&A pods will go behind the paywall.
If you want to subscribe but can’t afford it at this time, either due to being a student or some financial hardship, reply to this message, or a future newsletter, and I’ll add you to the subscriber list for six months, no questions asked. I want to do what I can to support your loyalty.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my thoughts, and expect many more in the future!
Kevin
P.S. There’s also a option to become a “Founding Member” at a higher price point. I’m establishing a founding member only chat, plus will start to host calls/zoom/etc to talk directly with the founding members, discussing everything from the latest implications of NFL news to the process behind my metrics/coding/data. I believe it will be valuable for those dedicated to strong, analytical research, and possibly looking to learn how to make the sausage for a jump into the industry yourself.
