This week I’ll be attending the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and then heading to Boston for the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference. Technically, I won’t be attending the conference, but staying in the Back Bay and meeting up with a bunch of friends and acquaintances who will be in Boston. I’ll be in Indianapolis from Tuesday evening through Thursday afternoon, then leaving for Boston and returning home on Saturday.
If any subscribers are will be at either event, reply here and let me know what you’re doing and maybe we can find a time to meet up. I know that some people behind the Big Data Bowl will have a get-together on Wednesday night after the event, and I might be able to share the info if you’re interested.
I’ll have a media credential for the Combine, and will try and grill the coaches/GMs available to us on why they aren’t hiring more research people. I don’t think I’m going to have time for a podcast this week, but will aggregate the media hits I’m going to do and post links here at the end of the week.
It's the best kind of Mixology when you can take business with pleasure take care of yourself Kevin
All the cool kids say that attending Sloan panels is for suckers and the GTO approach is to just network. (Unless you're presenting and can actually get into the green room.) As a dork who hates networking, the panels would be the highlight for me! 😁
Have an awesome time, Kevin. I don't know if Jeff Ma is doing something (or if you're at liberty to say) but it sounds like that dude knows how to throw a party.
