NFL Power Rankings: Divisional Round is Set
The Chiefs remain the team to beat, with the 49ers moving slightly above the Bills and Eagles
I’m able to bring these numbers to you a little earlier this week with less uncertainty at starting quarterback versus in the Wild Card round.
The biggest shake-up in the rankings is the ascension of the 49ers all the way to second, settling above a tight grouping with the Bills and Eagles. The 49ers beat the Seahawks by a massive 18 points, thought the adjusted score differential was more narrow at six. Even still, the 49ers advanced in the rankings on a Bills team that struggled against much weaker competition in the form of the Skylar Thompson-led Dolphins.
The Giants and Jags improved their power rankings with victories, as wins are more meaningful in the playoffs as competition becomes stronger. The Cowboys improved some with their offensive explosion against the Bucs, but still remain a tier below the 49ers, Bills, Eagles, and Bengals.
There are two matchups that look currently mispriced by the markets.
