2024 NFL Draft Day 2 Analytical Review

Using consensus data from mock drafts and big boards, plus surplus value considerations, to analyze Day 2 of the NFL draft

I’m going to quickly applied the same surplus value methodology to the Day 2 pick as I did for the first round. Come Monday, I’ll have comprehensive team-by-team numbers for total surplus value gained aggregating trade value, positional value and reach/steal value.

SECOND ROUND VALUES

The “Value” number is my estimate for salary cap equivalent for the player based on positional value and historical trends for prospects taken at his draft slot. Contract is the annual amount due, and surplus value is the difference that the team gains acquiring the player through the draft.
